Your visiting options

Tour on your own

Enjoy an immersive family-friendly medieval experience inside our three master towers. Our lavish interiors have been digitally recreated by historians and archaeologists and are now available in augmented reality on our touch tablets. Point your tablet in any direction and enjoy the same exact angle from almost a thousand years ago! This exciting new development has proved very successful with our visitors from all ages and is a great way of experiencing what it felt like to be living inside a Anglo-Norman court in the 12th century. Historical contents is also provided through display panels (fr/eng), videos (subtitled) and recreated painted furniture. This is your chance to hear William the Conqueror tell his story, to enjoy the colorful interiors of a Norman household, to operate virtual siege machines, to solve our treasure hunt and much more!

Tablets are free of charge with your tickets. Depending on their availability, we lend out one tablet per adult and one per child over 10 years old. We require some identification (ID, driver's licence) for the loan of tablets. The ID is held in a secure place for the duration of your tour.
