The small Keep

This construction dates back to the second half of the 12th century, most likely from the reign of Henri II Plantagenet and his wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine.

This extension of the great square keep increased both comfort and security : the small keep protects the western side of the fortress and extends the living space.
The room is elegant and well-proportioned ; the fireplace (perhaps original) gives a great impression of comfort and the windows, reshaped in the 15th century, give out an exceptional quality of light.
